A world where poverty will not exist

That is the whole of it. Not poverty reduced, not poverty managed — poverty gone. We know it is an audacious thing for a youth-led foundation to say out loud, and we say it anyway, because every programme we run is measured against it.

Poverty is rarely a single problem. It is a child pulled out of school to earn, a mother who skips a meal so her children can eat, a family whose savings vanish in one hospital bill, a village where the nearest safe water is an hour away. Each of those is solvable. Together they are what we work on.

What the vision commits us to

• Women and children first. They carry the heaviest share of poverty and gain the most from every rupee invested in them.
• Dignity, not charity. People are partners in their own progress, never recipients of pity.
• Root causes, not symptoms. Education, health, skills and livelihood — the things that stop poverty repeating in the next generation.
• Open books. Crowdfunded money is public money. Donors should be able to see where it went.
